Core Gameplay
Orchard Gravity Splice: Apple Rain presents a steady rainfall of red, green, and yellow apples. You slice by drawing continuous lines; each apple cut adds to your score. The level ends when you have sliced 50 apples, but missing five apples causes an early failure. A “rain intensity” metre gradually increases fall speed as you progress through each level, requiring faster responses.
Levels & Content Design
The game includes 280 levels arranged in four “seasons.” Spring levels have slow, gentle falls; summer levels introduce occasional wind; autumn levels have dense clusters; winter levels include frozen apples that are slightly harder to slice (require a more precise swipe). The level set is complete upon purchase. No future updates are promised, but the variety within the 280 levels is extensive.
Visuals & Experience
The art style uses a storybook aesthetic with soft edges and muted colours. Backgrounds change from blossom to snow. Raindrops fall behind the apples, adding depth. Slice animations produce a brief white flash and a soft thud sound. Frame rate is consistent, with an option to reduce visual effects for older devices. Touch response is tuned for both stylus and finger input.
Key Features
A “wind shield” power-up (one per level) slows all apples by 50% for three seconds. A streak log shows your longest combo. Offline mode is default. There is no global leaderboard, but you can view a graph of your performance over recent levels. A pause-and-resume function works instantly.
User Value
Players may use this game as a short, structured activity that requires focus but not deep strategy. It provides clear feedback and measurable progress. No claims about attention training are made.
Usage Scenarios
Ideal for a quick session before a meeting, while waiting for a pot to boil, or during a short bus ride. The seasonal themes add variety without complexity.
